How it works
A process designed to keep you comfortable
Remodeling is disruptive by nature. Good management is what keeps it from being stressful. Here’s exactly how a Realty Builders project moves from first conversation to finished home.
You always know where things stand. No black boxes, no guessing.
The number is the number. Priced from real scope; changes quoted in writing.
Your home is respected. Protected, clean, supervised — every day.
Step by step
Six stages, start to finish
Every project moves through the same clear path. The time each stage takes varies with scope, but the structure — and the accountability — stays the same.
- 01
Consultation
Week 1We visit your home, listen to how you live in it, and talk honestly about scope, priorities, and budget. You leave knowing whether we’re the right fit — no pressure, no vague promises.
- 02
Design & Selections
Weeks 2–6We develop the plan, produce drawings and 3D views, and guide your material and finish selections. Locking these in early is what keeps the budget and schedule honest once we build.
- 03
Estimate & Agreement
Before we buildYou receive a detailed written estimate tied to a defined scope and real selections — not placeholders. When you approve it, the number you sign is the number we build to.
- 04
Permits & Engineering
Varies by cityWe prepare complete submittals, coordinate structural and mechanical engineering, and manage plan check and corrections so your project clears review as smoothly as possible.
- 05
Construction
Project-dependentOne project manager owns the schedule and communication. Trades are sequenced so they don’t collide, the site stays protected and clean, and you always know what’s happening this week.
- 06
Walkthrough & Warranty
CompletionWe walk the finished project with you, complete the punch list, and stand behind the work. A remodel should still look and function right years after the crew leaves.

FAQ
Process questions
How soon can you start my project?
It depends on our current schedule and the design and permitting timeline for your project. We’ll give you a realistic start window during the consultation rather than an optimistic one.
Do I pay for the design phase?
Design and planning are real work that produces the drawings, selections, and detailed scope your estimate is built on. We’ll explain exactly how design is structured during your consultation.
What happens if I want to change something mid-project?
Changes are normal. When you want to adjust something, we quote it in writing — cost and schedule impact — before any work proceeds, so there are no surprises on the final invoice.
Can I stay in my home during construction?
For most projects, yes. We seal off work areas, protect the rest of the home, and sequence the work to keep the disruption window as short as the scope allows. For whole-home remodels, we’ll help you plan around occupancy.
Who is my point of contact during the project?
One project manager owns your project’s schedule and communication. You won’t be chasing different trades for answers.
Ready to start your remodel?
Tell us about your home and your goals. We’ll follow up to schedule a consultation and give you an honest read on scope and next steps.
